Harry with pink nose

3rd July

Lots of fun and games with the little tinker, he likes to leap up into Sacha’s ears and dangle from them, Sacha does not mind at all, however, Ben one of our cats - hates it when he does it to him.
He now likes bacon, scrambled eggs, and cold chicken soup, just about anything we eat, Harry eats.

He is playing on my desk as I type his page, and is messing with my keyboard.
Oops! he has just fell off the desk - he is OK, little horror.
He has just had a small bath, which he does not mind a
bit, he is very laid back, for a cat (kitten).
Got to stop now, as he keeps leaping on me and I cannot type - he is off with my pen now.

Harry in hanging basket

5th July

Happiness to a kitten, is cherry stalks!

Harry and I have reached an understanding, I eat the cherries, and he play’s with the stalks! He can play all day with one stalk - I wish I were so easily pleased.
We have been planting our hanging baskets and came across a strange type of plant (above).
The photo looks like it is posed, but cat lovers will know, you CANNOT get a cat to comply, I took about one hundred photos to get this one, the rest were just a blur.

10th July

Look at that tummy!

Harry is nearly ten weeks old, and as you can see he is outgrowing his shovel.
He is sleeping on Dougal a cuddly toy from The Magic Roundabout - a cartoon from my childhood.

Dougal is the hairy dog, and was my favourite.

Harry has found a chum in one of our cats Jeoffrey.  Jeoffrey is fourteen years old and has recently become completely blind, and because he has always been an indoor cat, he is dealing with his lack of sight, admirably - and is otherwise fine.
Harry however, has latched onto Jeoffrey and they spend many hours curled up together, sleeping. Which is fortunate as our other three cats are still at the ignoring stage. Occasionally, they will play with Harry, but not if Peter and I are watching.
If they play together, and we enter the room, the other cats run away and pretend they do not like him again - cats!
Sacha simply adores Harry and they frolic all day long, it is lovely to watch.

14th July

Because it is very hot here in England, Harry and the big cats have been sleeping a lot.
Harry is still a little tinker and loves to chase the other cats tails - much to their annoyance.

16th July

No longer number one tormenter!

Poor Thomas (our ginger feline) has finally realised his five year reign of being head terroriser (of our other cats), is being challenged - and indeed superseded - by Harry.
And as a consequence, the normally aloof Thomas is now very loving towards Peter and myself - which is an unexpected bonus.
No tail, be it cat or dog - is safe within Harry’s sight. Poor Ben, our fluffy tabby, gets most of the attention - as his tail is as bushy as a fox tail.
At present, Ben can find sanctuary in high places - but not for long, as little Harry will be able to jump very high places, very soon.

21st July

Peekaboo

Harry looking through blinds

That’s were he got to.

Little monkey, he gets everywhere - he got himself behind the blinds, but could not get back - typical Harry!. He is now at the biting and scratching stage, just little bites and little scratches - but nevertheless painful; he is still keeping everyone on their toes.
He is getting bigger by the second, we are now frightened to come down stairs in the morning - he might be huge - he is growing that quickly.
He likes to sit out in our garden with us (we keep tight a hold of him), and loves to watch the birds. However, he is content to sit on my knee and be cuddled - for now. I (accidentally) let go of him once and he was nearly up a tree and off - we (I), won’t do that again as he is much to little to go out.

After playing together for the past half an hour both Sacha and Harry are now fast asleep - I would take a photo, but as soon as I attempt to pick it up, they wake up - it’s as if they know.

27th July

Harry has a new toy

Harry’s new toy is his...  TAIL.
He will chase it for hours - in between chasing Sacha and our other cats tails, of course.
Oh, and he still fits into his shovel - just!
He cannot stretch out much though! as you can see.

It seems like we have more than one Harry - this is because as soon as we pop him on the floor he is back up on the bench again - and again - and again - in about a nano second.
The big cats are still enjoying the sanctuary that comes in high places (tops of cupboards etc) - but not for much longer - and don’t they know it.

One of our big cats Ben (our long haired Tabby with bushy tail) enjoys removing the wallpaper from the cats room with his sharp claws.  However, it is something we can live with - as apart from it being illegal in the UK (thankfully), I find the de-clawing of cats barbaric - I would rather have a distressed cats room rather than a distressed (and defenceless) cat.

Ben, Jeoffrey, Jack and Thomas are all beginning to accept Harry now - it was touch and go for a while.
We are now one big happy (hairy) family.
Oh yes, as predicted a while back, Harry now climbs our legs (ouch).
